Design Story

The katana runs diagonally across the front panel as the primary axis, its diamond-wrapped hilt anchoring the upper composition. Beneath it, a dry-brush crescent sweeps in charcoal with scattered splatter, opening space for a violet-black orb with a pale slit iris. Behind everything, a pale hexagonal crest with a stylised bloom sits like a watermark. A ruled vertical rule frames the serif letters A I Z E N, with vertical Japanese characters and a small kanji marker below. Faint geometric outlines and drifting petal marks fill the mid-tones — detail that only reveals itself up close.

Carry & Styling

Scale is deliberate: the blade nearly spans the panel edge to edge without crowding the seams, while the type column holds the left margin and balances the heavier ink mass on the right. The pale ground keeps visual weight low, so the tote reads as a refined graphic accessory rather than a loud statement.
