Design Story

The structure is strictly symmetrical. At distance, the eye lands on the orange star and cream letterform inside a navy medallion, ringed by a bright bead-like border that reads as a halo. Mid-range, the arched banner "HOUSTON ASTROS" sits above, balanced below by badge-style wording "EST. 1962 / HOUSTON, TEXAS" and a small league-style silhouette mark. Close in, the design turns maximalist: gold-toned scrollwork, crown and column motifs, laurel branches, crossed bat forms, a stitched baseball at the base, and scattered jewel-like and star accents. Navy carries the field, gold organises the hierarchy, orange concentrates the attention. Ornament everywhere, yet the centre stays quiet.

Use & Experience

On the tumbler's vertical proportion, the emblem sits at the natural front-facing focal panel, roughly at eye level when held, while the ornamental framework carries the composition upward to the rim and downward to the base. The wraparound detail keeps the silhouette visually continuous beside the handle, giving strong carry presence without crowding the focal mark.
