Design Story

The focal point is the grinning skull framed by a huge halo of dark afro hair, with the raised bone hand and tall top hat pulling the eye upward. Everything else is grayscale drama: a ruffled cravat, a layered tailcoat, a cane held low, all rendered in charcoal, ash and near-black. The only colour break is a thin electric-blue ring behind the figure, echoed by small jewel-like glints on the hat and collar. Below the illustration sits clean spaced lettering reading SOUL KING with a decorative edition-style line beneath it and a small crown emblem between thin rules. Layered but disciplined — the black background does half the composition's work.

Use & Experience

On a matte black tumbler this reads beautifully, because the artwork's dark field blends into the drinkware silhouette and only the silver-grey figure and typography surface. The illustration occupies the front focal panel at full vertical scale, with the type block anchoring the taper near the base. Viewed from the handle side, the wrap stays quiet; turned forward, it becomes a bold graphic accessory.
