Design Story

The hierarchy reads instantly. At distance, the banner word CHICAGO across the top and the red-and-blue roundel at the heart carry the whole surface. Mid-range, the ballpark diamond opens behind it, green outfield wedges, packed stands rendered in dotted blues, scoreboards and a city skyline pricked with tiny window lights against a star-flecked sky. Two crossed bats sit low, framed by a laurel wreath, with a lower ribbon reading EST. 1876 in badge-style lettering. Up close, the gold filigree border does the real work: corner flourishes, beaded rules, thin red keylines that stop the navy from going flat. Two baseballs anchor the bottom corners, weighting the composition like finials.
