Design Story

At distance, the eye lands on the shield crest — split navy and orange, with the winged lion mark and the stacked wordmark FC CINCINNATI arching above it on a banner. Medium distance reveals the supporting hierarchy: a laurel-style wreath, an EST. 2015 badge-style ribbon, a scripted Cincinnati banner, and the phrase All for Cincy anchoring the base. Up close, engraved-looking city skyline linework and a suspension bridge run across the lower third, punctuated by jewel-like blue and amber dots and metallic-appearing scrollwork. It is a maximalist, symmetrical composition, but the tonal contrast keeps it legible.

The layered composition wraps the body vertically, with the crest sitting at the natural front-facing focal panel and the skyline reading as a base border. Ornamental framing draws the eye upward toward the lid line, while the handle side stays visually quiet — a bold graphic accessory that still reads as considered rather than loud.
