A dark heraldic composition built like a tapestry panel, where every element sits exactly where the eye expects weight. Restrained palette, strict symmetry, no wasted surface.
Design Story
The centre is held by a spired castle rendered in slate greys against a bruised, storm-toned sky. Two ravens perch on shields — fleur-de-lis on deep blue, a gold cross on oxblood — each crowned above, mirroring one another across the vertical axis. Lower down, twin gargoyles crouch on stone plinths and frame a crowned crest with a gold lion and crossed swords, the true focal anchor at floor level. A gold-on-burgundy border of scrollwork, fleur-de-lis roundels and knight's helms closes the field with a clean, deliberate edge.
Room & Styling
As a floor composition the hierarchy reads perfectly at room scale: the crest and gargoyles carry the near view, the castle rises as you step back, and the ornate border defines the rug's footprint without letting the artwork bleed away. Symmetry means it holds from any approach, and the dark ground lets gold linework act as the only real highlight — a grounding interior accent under a low table or centred in a walkway.
