A centered floor composition built like an illuminated manuscript page: full moon, black spires, and a heraldic frame holding it all in place.
Design Story
The read at distance is the moonlit silhouette of a spired castle rising against storm-broken cloud, with a pale disc of moon as the single brightest value in an otherwise near-black field. Mid-distance brings the supporting cast into focus: a crimson lion shield crowned in gold at the lower center, flanked by two crouching gargoyles, with ravens perched in arched cartouches at the upper corners and fleur-de-lis banners, visored helms and crossed swords stacked down both side panels. The border is a deep oxblood and gold repeat, layered inside a black outer edge that keeps the whole thing contained. The palette is disciplined — charcoal, slate, oxblood, antique gold — so the gold scrollwork does all the leading. Up close, the linework reads fine and engraved, dense without turning muddy.
Room & Styling
As a floor piece the hierarchy works: the castle occupies the upper two thirds, the crest anchors the base, and the symmetrical border frames every approach angle. Squared and symmetrical, it holds a room's center on its own, and its dark ground reads calmly against pale wood flooring while a low table sits comfortably over the crest without losing the skyline.
