Design Story

The hierarchy is unusually disciplined. At distance the eye reads three things — the electric blue hair mass, the pale checkered blanket beneath it, and the deep indigo border that frames everything like a mounted plate. Midway in, supporting motifs orbit the centre: a wicker basket, a folded parasol, a sheathed blade, a hollow-eyed mask, a bento box, a cup, a bouquet. Up close, fine ink linework, scattered pink blossoms, kanji on a small bottle, and skull emblems set into the corner panels reward slower looking. The palette holds to blue, bone-white and blush against a warm neutral ground, so the sharpest contrast lands exactly where the character sits.

Room & Styling

As a floor piece the layout behaves like a centred medallion: the seated figure anchors the middle, the objects form a loose ring of negative space around him, and the patterned border resolves the edge so the rug reads as a complete image rather than a cropped picture.
