Design Story

The wraparound composition layers sculpted, badge-style elements over a warm off-white base. At distance the eye catches two things: the crimson block IU trident and the mascot rising toward a rim, ball cocked overhead. Medium range reveals the supporting type - a GO HOOSIERS! banner, a HOOSIERS plaque, UNIVERSITY INDIANA arch, an EST. 1820 marker and a WE ARE HOOSIERS ribbon along the lower edge. Close up, the raised-look edges, mini basketballs, foam finger, helmet motif and small stars fill the negative space with rhythm rather than clutter. The palette stays disciplined: crimson, cream, and the brown of the mascot's mane.

Use & Experience

The vertical proportion works in the design's favour - the leaping figure occupies the upper focal panel, the driving figure anchors the mid-body, and typography closes the base. Graphic scale reads clearly from across a room, and the cream field keeps the crimson from overwhelming the silhouette.
