Design Story

The focal panel is a large oval dial with Roman numerals from XII down to VI, framed by concentric engraved-look rings. At its centre sits an interlocking LA monogram, with a scripted Dodgers wordmark beneath it and small-caps typography reading LOS ANGELES and EST. 1884 — decorative period wording, not a verified claim. Supporting sub-dials flank the centre: an 18/84 medallion on the left, a miniature LA dial on the right, and a gear-like tourbillon motif below. Jewel-like blue accents and fine gear teeth fill the corners, so the read shifts from monogram at distance, to script and numerals mid-range, to hairline engraving up close. Palette is disciplined: two tones, gold on near-black, with a navy handle answering the tinted lid.

The vertical proportion suits the dial layout — the oval elongates with the tumbler's silhouette, the gold banding at rim and base bookends the artwork, and the darker lower panel gives the eye somewhere to rest. Held or carried, it reads as a considered accessory rather than a novelty cup.
