A rectangular floor composition organized like a commemorative plate: everything is centered, mirrored, and held inside an ornamental frame.
Design Story
At distance the eye lands on the word KNICKS, set in tall orange lettering with blue outlining against a deep navy field. Above it, NEW YORK reads in a lighter grey serif; below, a circular basketball motif anchors the exact center. Supporting layers unfold at medium range: a silhouetted skyline in indigo and warm window-light, an arena bowl rendered in miniature with a pale wooden court, and a banner carrying the badge-style wording EST. 1946 — decorative text rather than a verified claim. Golden scrollwork runs the full border, doubling at the corners where four small basketballs sit as symmetrical accents. The palette stays disciplined: navy, orange, gold, grey. Restraint in color allows density of detail without noise.
Room & Styling
As a rug, the layout works because its hierarchy is vertical and centered — typography high, emblem mid, arena low — so the composition still reads when viewed from standing height. The gold border defines the edge cleanly against pale flooring, giving the piece a contained visual footprint and a clear role as a room anchor.
