Design Story

The centre holds a seated long-haired figure in a charcoal knit and sand-toned skirt, flower clips at the temple, hands folded, smiling calmly. That dark top is the only deep tonal block in an otherwise cream, apricot and terracotta palette, so it anchors the eye instantly. Around her, a ring of supporting motifs orbits at even weight: stacked books, a labelled bottle, a wicker basket of fruit, a lion-faced plush, an iced orange drink, a bento box, a cake slice, a plaque with vertical Japanese lettering. Sakura blossoms drift through the gaps and gather in the gingham-striped border, which is finished with corner diamonds and small emblem panels. Balanced, layered, but never crowded — the negative space of the pale ground does real work.

Room & Styling

As a rug it behaves like a central medallion piece: strong focal figure, orbiting detail at mid-distance, decorative border framing the edge. Place it clear of heavy furniture so the ring composition stays legible, and let the warm neutrals set the room's tone.
