Design Story

At distance you see the medallion: a golden straw hat with a red band, framed by a knotted rope ring and a cream field. Around it, small illustrated notes fill the space at even weight - a skull-and-hat flag, a caravel on blue swells, a compass rose, a spyglass, coconuts, hibiscus and palm fronds, a tiny picnic basket, and a laughing figure in a spotted bandana. A blue-and-cream triangle border with shell corners locks the whole layout in, and pale sand negative space keeps the ornament from crowding. The palette stays restrained: ochre, marine blue, coral red, leaf green. Fringed-looking edges are drawn detail, part of the graphic language.
