A square floor piece built like a vintage travel poster: centered, framed, and confident enough to hold a room without raising its voice.
Design Story
The hierarchy is deliberate. At distance you read the cream medallion and the arched typography — STRAW HAT PICNIC — wrapped around a straw hat with a red band, the single largest motif on the surface. Mid-range, supporting elements fill the field: a green-haired swordsman standing with arms crossed and a calm, self-assured half-smile, three sheathed blades at his hip, a skull-and-crossbones flag, a treasure chest, a checkered picnic basket, an island horizon in aged blue. Up close, decorative linework carries hibiscus, palm fronds, starfish, shells, a ship's wheel and small corner anchors inside a double border of gold and deep blue. The palette is restrained to indigo, sand, coral and forest green — warm figuration against cool water.
Room & Styling
Composition reads centered rather than all-over: the medallion anchors the middle, the border contains the edge, and the illustrated frame keeps the eye circulating instead of spilling off. Placed under a low table or centered in open floor, it functions as a graphic room anchor with a clear focal core and balanced negative space in the sky field.
